Kyrgyz, Russian sides discuss financial assistance and budget support of Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Sept. 27, 2021 / Kabar /. Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Tatikov and Deputy Minister of Finance of Russia Timur Maksimov discussed issues of financial assistance and support to the budget of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The press service of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Economy reported that the meeting took place as part of Tatikov’s participation in the Strategic Session of the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD / Fund), which was held on September 24 in Moscow.

Speaking at the session, Tatikov noted that the Kyrgyz Republic has been a member of the Fund for more than 10 years and during this period effective cooperation has been achieved within the framework of the implementation of priority projects in the country.

“Cooperation with the Fund for the Kyrgyz Republic is an important strategic priority, given that the republic is a member state of the Eurasian Economic Union and seeks to integrate the economies of states, as the main mission of the EFSD says. With the adoption of the first strategy of the Fund in the Kyrgyz Republic for 2022-2026, new opportunities for productive cooperation will also open, and most importantly, the Fund will support the new Medium-Term Strategy of the Kyrgyz Republic,” the deputy minister said.

During the bilateral meeting between Tatikov and Maksimov, topical issues of financial assistance, budget support of the Kyrgyz Republic, the activities of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund, in terms of the possibility of issuing government securities were discussed.

Also, Tatikov met with the acting EFSD Executive Director Andrey Shirokov, where the issues of developing cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Fund were considered. In particular, timely implementation of projects, acceleration of procedures for the approval of financial assistance for the Kyrgyz Republic.
