Kyrgyz, Saudi Arabia FMs discuss topical issues of cooperation

Bishkek, Feb. 28, 2019. / Kabar /. A meeting of Kyrgyz Foreign Ministers Chingiz Aidarbekov and Saudi Arabia Ibrahim bin Abdelaziz Al-Assaf was held in Er-Riyadh, within the framework of Kyrgyz minister’s first official visit after assuming his new office.

During the meeting, the foreign ministers of the two states discussed pressing issues of mutual interest of mutual cooperation, as well as the regional and international agenda, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

Regarding the prospects for the development of Kyrgyz-Saudi bilateral cooperation, the sides agreed on the importance of intensifying high level visits. The sides also noted the tasks of deepening a constructive dialogue in the bilateral and multilateral formats, mutual support to the elected bodies of international organizations. The sides planned to develop promising bilateral investment and credit projects aimed at sustainable socio-economic development of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The heads of the foreign affairs agencies of the two countries noted with satisfaction the forthcoming participation of a large delegation of athletes from Kyrgyzstan at the Camel Fest ethnographic festival, which will be held in March in Saudi Arabia.

Along with this, the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding took place, within the framework of which Kyrgyz-Saudi ministerial political consultations were scheduled.

The sides agreed to continue political contacts and coordinate work.
