Bishkek, Nov. 26, 2021. / Kabar /. The State Committee for National Security and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan prevented violent seizure of power.
The press service of the State Committee for National Security said that during the work carried out to ensure the security of the upcoming parliamentary elections, the data was obtained on a group of people planning to organize provocations to destabilize the socio-political situation in the country immediately after the upcoming parliamentary elections, followed by a violent seizure of power.
During the investigation of the case, irrefutable evidence of the criminal activities of a group of persons led by certain destructive political forces, including deputies of the Kyrgyz Parliament and former high-ranking officials, was obtained.
The group was planning to organize mass protests in the territory of Bishkek city with a subsequent aggravation of the situation, provoking clashes with the law enforcement bodies and further violent seizure of power after the announcement of the results of the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for Nov. 28.
For these purposes, the group recruited about 1000 aggressive young people to organize mass protests.
In order to preemptively suppress the criminal activities of the group, investigators of the State Committee for National Security and the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted searches at the places of residence of active participants and in the office they rented, as a result of which, in addition to documentary materials confirming the preparation for a crime, firearms, ammunition and drugs were found and seized.
Based on the results of the investigative actions and the irrefutable evidence obtained during the investigation, a decision was made to detain and prosecute more than 15 active members of this group.
Currently, the investigative actions are ongoing, other members of the above-mentioned criminal group are being identified.
