Bishkek, June 14, 2023. / Kabar /. “Despite the current situation associated with sanctions pressure on individual EAEU member states, there is an increase in the volume of remittances from individuals,” Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic Nazarbek Malayev said at Kabar Agency.
According to him, compared to 2021, the volume of transfers increased by about USD 172 million, or a growth rate of 106%.
“So, for the period from January to March 2023, the total inflow of money transfers of individuals, carried out through transfer systems from the EAEU countries, amounted to USD 467.95 million, they mainly came from Russia - 420.59 million and from Kazakhstan - 13 .09 million,” he said.
It should be noted that in 2022, the total gross inflow of money transfers of individuals from the EAEU countries, carried out through transfer systems, amounted to about USD 2,928 million.
The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member-states are Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
