Bishkek, June 23, 2022. / Kabar /. Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Talant Mamytov met today with Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary Sandor Lezhak. The meeting was also attended by Ambassador of Hungary to the Kyrgyz Republic Sandor Dorogi.
The sides discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation, including through the inter-parliamentary line, the press service of the Jogorku Kenesh reported.
Talant Mamytov, noting that Kyrgyzstan and Hungary are connected by common historical roots, indicated an interest in further strengthening cooperation both on a bilateral basis and within the TurkPA. “Cooperation within the TurkPA will further strengthen the inter-parliamentary dialogue between Kyrgyzstan and Hungary,” he added.
Talant Mamytov expressed his gratitude to the Hungarian side for providing quotas for education in higher educational institutions of Hungary to 200 students from Kyrgyzstan, as well as for naming one of the public gardens in Budapest after the Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov.
In turn, the Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, Sandor Lezhak, emphasized that in relations between Kyrgyzstan and Hungary, special importance is given to the awareness of kinship. “This is a high degree of trust,” he added.
Sandor Lezhak noted the readiness of the Hungarian side for comprehensive cooperation, saying that special attention should be paid to cooperation in the educational sphere. He noted that Kyrgyzstanis have the opportunity to study at universities in Hungary as part of the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship program.
The XI plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries (TurkPA) will be held in Cholpon-Ata on June 24, Hungary has the status of an observer in this organization.
