Kyrgyz Speaker is awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Russian State Duma

Bishkek, March 27 / Kabar /. Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament Chynybai Tursunbekov met with Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin on March 26 as part of working visit of the Kyrgyz parliamentary delegation to St. Petersburg (Russian Federation), the press service of the Jogorku Kenesh reported.

At the meeting, the sides exchanged views on political, economic and humanitarian ties, as well as discussed ways to intensify inter-parliamentary cooperation.

The Kyrgyz Speaker congratulated his Russian counterpart on the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kyrgyzstan and Russia. "Our goal is to continue the dialogue between the two countries, in particular, the development of inter-parliamentary partnership. Kyrgyzstan stands for promoting cooperation in various areas and at different levels of cooperation," the Speaker said.

Tursunbekov, expressing his deep conviction that inter-parliamentary cooperation contributes to strengthening of strategic partnership between the countries, said that one of the tasks of the Kyrgyz-Russian interparliamentary cooperation is legislative support for the implementation of bilateral agreements. "It is necessary to continue Kyrgyz-Russian friendly relations within the framework of such alliances as the Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS member states (IPA CIS) and the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly (PA CSTO)," he added.

Participants of the meeting also discussed the issues of cooperation within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union and exchanged views on the issue of expanding trade relations between the countries.

Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, in turn, expressing the interest of the Russian side in deepening cooperation in all areas, stressed the need to strengthen inter-parliamentary ties between the two countries. Volodin also emphasized the importance of implementing projects between the Jogorku Kenesh and the State Duma.

At the meeting, Vyacheslav Volodin awarded Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Chynybai Tursunbekov the Certificate of Honor of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation for achievements in strengthening and developing international relations.

The delegation of the Jogorku Kenesh is visiting St. Petersburg within the framework of the jubilee sessions of the IPA CIS and the CSTO PA.
