Bishkek, June 23, 2022. / Kabar /. Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Talant Mamytov today, June 23, met with chairperson of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Sagiba Gafarova. The meeting was also attended by Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Kyrgyz Republic Latif Gandilov.
The sides discussed issues of developing bilateral cooperation and strengthening inter-parliamentary interaction.
Mamytov indicated that Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan are connected by common historical roots, cultural traditions and spiritual and moral values. “Friendly and trusting relations have been established between our countries. We regularly meet at various venues and conduct dialogue at high and highest levels. Such meetings contribute to the dynamic development of the Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani cooperation,” he emphasized.
The Kyrgyz speaker drew attention to the implementation of projects for the construction of the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan Friendship Park and the school named after Heydar Aliyev in Bishkek. Mamytov recalled that within the framework of the official visit of President Sadyr Zhaparov to Azerbaijan, fruitful negotiations were held and bilateral documents were signed. "The heads of state have identified guidelines for further interaction," the speaker concluded.
Chairwoman of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova noted that an open dialogue both on a bilateral basis and within the framework of the TurkPA and other inter-parliamentary organizations is considered as one of the important factors in strengthening friendship and trust between fraternal peoples. She also noted that it is necessary to pay special attention to the intensification of economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
XI plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries (TurkPA) will be held in Cholpon-Ata on June 24.
