Kyrgyz speaker meets with first deputy chairman of Parliament of Yakutia

Speaker Mamytov warmly welcomed the delegate and noted his personal contribution to the strengthening and development of bilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and the Republic of Sakha. “I would especially like to thank the Yakut side, represented by you, for the publication of a compressed version of the Kyrgyz epic “Manas” in Russian and Yakut languages ​​and for the translation of the work of the great Kyrgyz writer Chyngyz Aitmatov “Piebald dog running along the edge of the sea”, as well as for assistance in the publication of the book “M.K. Ammosov. Kyrgyz period of activity”,” Mamytov said.

The speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh emphasized that the development of mutually beneficial cooperation with the Republic of Sakha is of particular importance for Kyrgyzstan, since the historical and cultural connection between the two peoples leaves a special imprint on relations. “I would like to emphasize that we are united by a similar culture and traditions that need to be continued, while let me note that the destinies of our ancestors crossed more than once in the expanses of Eurasia,” he said.

Speaking about the deepening of cultural ties between the republics, the speaker suggested considering the possibility of holding the Days of Culture of Kyrgyzstan in Yakutia, as well as installing a monument to Aitmatov in Yakutsk or naming one of the streets of Yakutsk after him.

Talant Mamytov also noted the importance of creating favorable conditions for the stay and employment of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic in the territory of Yakutia, and outlined aspects of cooperation in the field of culture, education and science, proposing to conclude an appropriate agreement.

In turn, Alexander Zhirkov spoke about the activities of the international association "Eposes of the Peoples of the World", noting that this organization was founded in 1999 in Bishkek and was headed by the People's Writer of Kyrgyzstan Beksultan Zhakiev. Zhirkov focused on the importance of continuing and intensifying the work of this organization. In addition, he invited the official delegation of Kyrgyzstan to participate in the festive events as part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the 125th anniversary of the birth of Maxim Ammosov. Talant Mamytov expressed support for the initiatives of the Yakut side.
