Kyrgyz Speaker meets with Turkish counterpart in Izmir

Bishkek, Nov. 21, 2018 / Kabar /. In the city of Izmir, during the working visit of the Kyrgyz parliamentary delegation to Turkey to participate in the 8th plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries (TURKPA), Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Dastanbek Dzhumabekov met with Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Binali Yildirim.

During the meeting, the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties between our countries, as well as issues of strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation were discussed.

Binali Yıldırım noted that Kyrgyzstan is a key strategic partner.

“Today a new page is opening up in the bilateral cooperation, which will become the starting point for expanding our relations in many areas,” Yıldırım said.

In turn, Dzhumabekov expressed gratitude for the warm welcome provided at the TURKPA plenary session.

“Kyrgyzstan is interested in expanding mutually beneficial cooperation with Turkey. Thanks to the heads of our states, an impetus has been given for the dynamic development of bilateral relations. Inter-parliamentary cooperation is also at a high level, the parliamentarians of the two countries work closely together in various international and parliamentary organizations, including parliamentary friendship groups,” said Dzhumabekov.

Stressing the dynamic development of bilateral relations, he said the need to increase trade and economic turnover up to $1 billion. The meeting also discussed the possibility of expanding cooperation in the field of agriculture through the export of meat products from Kyrgyzstan to Turkey.

Dzhumabekov raised the issue of customs payments when transporting beans from the Kyrgyz Republic. They also discussed the issue of expanding cooperation in the field of attracting investments.

In conclusion, Dastanbek Dzhumabekov invited Binali Yıldırım to pay an official visit to Kyrgyzstan.
