Bishkek, June 10, 2021. / Kabar /. Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Talant Mamytov received Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan Khurshid Mirzakhidov.
The meeting participants discussed a number of issues on strengthening bilateral relations in various fields, including through inter-parliamentary interaction, the press service of the Kyrgyz Parliament reported.
Mamytov congratulated the ambassador on the official start of the diplomatic mission and expressed hope that with his personal assistance, the Kyrgyz-Uzbek relations will rise to a new quality level.
He also highlighted the current high level of Kyrgyz-Uzbek relations of friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership, which were reached thanks to the agreements between the leaders of the two countries during the state visit of President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov to Uzbekistan in March this year. “Today our partnership, without exception, covers all areas and continues to develop dynamically, filling with specific content. Now it is important to implement all the agreements reached and deepen the positive dynamics in our cooperation,” the speaker said.
Concerning inter-parliamentary interaction, Mamytov stressed that the Jogorku Kenesh intends to further deepen and strengthen these relations, which have noticeably intensified in recent years. He also noted that within the framework of the meetings of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly in St. Petersburg in April of this year a meeting was held with Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mrs. T. Narbayeva, during which it was possible to discuss issues of bilateral relations in many areas, including inter-parliamentary, trade and economic cooperation, etc.
Khurshid Mirzakhidov expressed deep gratitude to the Kyrgyz speaker for the high assessment and all-round support of his activities in Kyrgyzstan. He expressed his readiness to work for the benefit of developing good relations between fraternal countries. “Our meeting is taking place in a new period of warm relations between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan on the basis of the principles of brotherhood, good-neighborliness and trust,” he stressed and noted that the visit of President Zhaparov to Uzbekistan made a new round in the partnership between the two countries.
He also expressed hope for the support of the speaker in the implementation of all previously reached agreements. “It is very important to have parliamentary control, including in the implementation of certain agreements,” he added.
In conclusion, the sides agreed to “synchronize watches” on the current agenda of bilateral relations and outline new projects of fruitful cooperation between the two countries.
