Kyrgyz sportsman wins silver at judo tournament in Gran Prix 2017 in Tashkent

Bishkek, Oct. 9, 2017. / Kabar/. Athlete from Kyrgyzstan Yuri Krakovetsky won a silver medal at the Gran Prix 2017 tournament, which was held from 6 to 8 October in Tashkent.

According to the national federation of this sport, judoists from different countries, including Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Mongolia, Israel and Poland took part in the tournament.

Kyrgyzstan was represented by Arthur Te (up to 66 kg), Bektur Rysmambetov (up to 73 kg), Shahir Idrisov (up to 90 kg) and Yuri Krakovetsky (above 100 kg) under the leadership of head coach Sergey Mistryukov.

Competitions were held in 14 weight categories (men: -60 kg, -66 kg, -73 kg, -81 kg, -90 kg, -100 kg, +100 kg, women: -48 kg, -52 kg, -57 kg , -63 kg, -70 kg, -78 kg, +78 kg).

In the final day, in the weight category above 100 kg, the leader of the Kyrgyz national team Yuri Krakovetsky took the the second place, losing to the athlete from Israel.
