Bishkek, Dec. 23, 2020. /Kabar/. Students from Bishkek took third place (bronze) in the team competition at the 5th Moscow International Olympiad of Metropolises, which was held online on the basis of the Gazprom school.
According to the press service of the Bishkek Mayor’s Office, Kyrgyz students won silver medal (Chingiz Abdrazkhakov - physics), bronze (Nadezhda Ondrina - chemistry), bronze (Tikhon Mikhluhin - chemistry), and bronze (Mikhai Tsoy- informatics).
“The winners of the team competition will be awarded cups, diplomas and medals in the individual competition," the report said.
Bishkek team was selected based on the results of the city and the 2019-2020 Republican Olympiad.
The Olympiad of Metropolises was held on Dec. 16-19, 2020 in 4 disciplines - mathematics, physics, chemistry, informatics.
A blitz-contest of the competition with 20 questions in English for each subject
The Olympiad is an international team competition, which is held in Moscow every year at the initiative of the Mayor of the city. Its participants are 14-18 year old students, who live in the biggest metropolises of the world. The first olympiad took place in 2016 and it was attended by 173 students from 22 cities.
