Kyrgyz students who arrived from Tajikistan had no contact with relatives

Bishkek, May 6, 2020. /Kabar/. Batken students who came from Tajikistan had no contact with their family members and close ones, the press service of the Batken Oblast state administration reported.

Due to the spread of coronavirus in Tajikistan, the number of Kyrgyz people arriving from there is increasing.

"To date, 27 students have arrived in Batken Oblast from neighboring Tajikistan. All of them have undergone full check at border and have been placed under observation. They have not been in contact with their family and friends. At present, 4 students who arrived from Tajikistan have a coronavirus infection, and they are hospitalized," the report says.

As of today, sanitary posts have been set up on the roads along the border with Tajikistan, and they work in a reinforced regime. Supervision has also been strengthened in villages and settlements along the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, and awareness campaigns are being conducted with the local population.

Comprehensive joint measures in the fight against the coronavirus are being taken with the law enforcement agencies, border guards and local authorities of Sughd Region of Tajikistan.

As of May 6, 28 more cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in Kyrgyzstan, bringing the total to 871.

Of these, 211 cases are identified among medical workers.

Number of recoveries from this respiratory disease is 614.

12 have passed away.

In the cities of Bishkek, Osh, Dzhalal-Abad and At-Bashy region of Naryn Oblast a state of emergency is in force until May 10 inclusively due to the current situation under COVID-19. A curfew has been established.

At the same time, the Kyrgyz Government has already developed a three-phase procedure for resuming economic activity, and the first stage came into force on May 1.
