Kyrgyz-Tatar Business Forum held in Bishkek

Bishkek, July 17, 2024 . / Kabar / . A business forum was held in Bishkek on July 16 as part of the visit of the Tatarstan delegation to Kyrgyzstan.

The event was attended by Head of the Kyrgyz Chamber of Commerce and Industry Temir Sariev, Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan Vasil Shaikhraziev, representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan, the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, companies from Kyrgyzstan and Tatarstan.

Opening the forum, Temir Sariev noted that in 2023 the trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Tatarstan amounted to more than USD 200 million, which indicates a high dynamics of trade and economic relations.

"Statistics show that in 2022 the volume of investments from Tatarstan in the Kyrgyz economy amounted to about USD 50 million, which is a significant contribution to the development of our economic ties. In turn, the export of goods from Kyrgyzstan to Tatarstan has increased by 15%, which indicates the growing interest in our products," he said.

The Head of the Kyrgyz Chamber of Commerce and Industry noted the need to maximize economic cooperation in investment, trade and other areas.

"Large enterprises of Tatarstan in the heavy and petrochemical industry and electric power industry may consider investing in the Kyrgyz economy, given the strong investment factors such as cheap and skilled labor, available energy resources and liberal investment legislation and taxation.

In its turn, Kyrgyzstan is interested in supplies of oil and chemical industry products, as well as engineering products from Tatarstan. This cooperation can significantly strengthen economic ties and create new opportunities for both sides.

Today's round table is an important step towards deepening our relations," Temir Sariev concluded.

A presentation of economic opportunities of Tatarstan was held, as well as B2B negotiations between representatives of companies of the two republics.
