Bishkek, June 22, 2022. /Kabar/. Minister of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan Erkinbek Osoev took part in an annual event entitled European Development Days held in Brussels on June 21-22, the Transport Ministry reported.
The minister, together with high-ranking representatives of Central Asian countries took part in a separate special session on "Global Gateway in Central Asia", during which ways to strengthen the interconnectedness of the region with the European Union were discussed.
The EU Global Gateway strategy aims to develop smart, clean and safe connections in digital technologies, energy and transport, as well as to strengthen health, education and research systems around the world.
In his speech, Erkinbek Osoev noted the need to further develop long-term and sustainable cooperation with partner countries to develop the transport industry, build and reconstruct international transport corridors, and attract high-quality investments, including from multilateral financial institutions, in the physical infrastructure of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The minister also stressed desire of Kyrgyzstan to maintain a sufficiently high level of transport interaction and interconnectivity of transport infrastructure with partner countries in the region, as well as with other countries of the world.
It was proposed to strengthen cooperation in the use of modern solutions for cargo transportation using the latest technologies and automation of the transport process.
