Kyrgyz troops take part in CSTO training in Kazakhstan

Bishkek, Oct. 01, 2018. /Kabar/. The Search-2018 tactical-special exercises began in Kazakhstan with the forces and means of the intelligence services of the CSTO member states, the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

The intelligence and special units of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan are taking part in the maneuvers.

The solemn opening of the CSTO Search-2018 exercise was held today at the Gvardeysky training ground of the 40th Otar military base.

Chief of the Joint Staff of the CSTO Anatoly Sidorov, addressing the participants of the exercise, told that the military-political situation around the CSTO responsibility zone is currently characterized by an increase in negative processes in the sphere of military security and, as a worthy response to these challenges and threats, it is necessary to work out all elements of joint exercise in a single combat formation.

More than 3 000 servicemen and over 500 units of equipment, including aviation and intelligence equipment, are involved in the exercise, including two Russian reconnaissance aircraft Su-24MR, unmanned aerial vehicles Orlan-10 and Forpost.

In the course of practical actions, the participants of the exercise will work out the issues of intelligence organization in the interests of providing the Collective Rapid Reaction Force (CRRF) of the CSTO and will conduct a special operation to localize the armed conflict.

The Search-2018 joint tactical-special exercise is conducted within the framework of the unified plan of the Combat Brotherhood-2018 CSTO operational-strategic exercise.
