Bishkek, March 18, 2021 / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev held a meeting via videoconference with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov at the initiative of the Turkmen said.
The press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said that two ministers discussed topical issues of Kyrgyz-Turkmen cooperation in the political, trade and economic, transport and logistics, energy, cultural and humanitarian areas and outlined the prospects for further bilateral cooperation.
The sides noted the importance of further building up trade and economic cooperation, the implementation of joint projects in the construction industry and other areas. A separate topic of discussion was the cooperation of countries in the supply of electricity and natural gas from Turkmenistan to Kyrgyzstan.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to the organization of bilateral foreign policy events at the highest level.
Kazakbaev and Meredov noted the importance of high-quality preparation of the substantive part of the upcoming events and the need for timely approval of draft documents under consideration by the parties.
The ministers also emphasized the need for holding the next 5th meeting of the Kyrgyz-Turkmen Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation.
Following the meeting, the ministers agreed to maintain constant communication to discuss issues of Kyrgyz-Turkmen bilateral cooperation.
