Kyrgyz university becomes winner of University of Year International Competition

Kyrgyz State University named after Ishenaaly Arabaev became winner of the University of the Year International Competition 2022, being conducted by the International Achievements Research Center, which provides an opportunity for higher education institutions to showcase their achievements to a vast and growing global community. Explicitly designed for universities in countries with economies in transition and developing economies, it aims to highlight all the outstanding achievements that institutions in these countries have shown over the years.

Kyrgyz State University named after Ishenaaly Arabaev (Bishkek, The Kyrgyz Republic) became winner in the International Partnership category, the university reported.

This University, with a 77-year history, makes a huge contribution to the socio-economic development of the state as one of the leaders in the development of pedagogical science and education in the Kyrgyz Republic.

In recent years, Kyrgyz State University (KSU) named after Arabaev has successfully implemented a number of major international projects for green biotechnology and food security, social pedagogy, healthy lifestyles, education system, etc.

The University has good relationships with foreign partners. The Ambassadors of China, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Iran, Ukraine, Hungary, South Korea, and Japan visited KSU named after Arabaev, as well as representatives of international organizations, such as UNDP, UNESCO, DAAD, TIKA, KOICA, AKDN.

More than 90 contracts with foreign partners such as China, South Korea, Japan, Iran, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, etc. are functioning nowadays.

Many teachers, staff, and students have completed internships abroad and successfully participated in international conferences, and in this regard, it should be noted the intensification of academic mobility both among students and faculty members. It should also be noted the stable number of 3,000 international students and 30 foreign undergraduates admitted in 2021, which is the result of the work of the administration and heads of structural divisions to attract students from the CIS countries and abroad.

The KSU named after Arabaev developed its international activity by being a member of several international organizations. In recent years, a number of major international seminars and conferences have been held at the University.
