Kyrgyz volleyball team enters FIVB World Ranking taking 65th place among 176 teams

Bishkek, Nov. 21, 2018. /Kabar/. The national team of Kyrgyzstan has entered the world ranking of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), the Federation of the sport reported.

The updated ranking of the strongest teams in the world was published on October 1st, in which Kyrgyzstan took 65th place among 176 teams.

In the ranking, the results of teams in the World League 2017, the Olympic Games 2016, the World Cup 2015, and the World Championship 2018 were taken into account.

The national team of Kyrgyzstan took part in the qualifying round of the World Cup 2018, where it managed to win the qualifying tournament in the subzone.

In the fall of 2016, Kyrgyz volleyball players beat the national teams of Bangladesh and the Maldives in Cholpon-Ata.

The qualifying round in the central zone took place last May in Bishkek. Kyrgyzstan took the third place, losing to the teams of Kazakhstan and Bangladesh. This result allowed to score seven rating points and take 65th place.
