Kyrgyz Women filmmakers conduct film forum

Bishkek, Nov. 21, 2017. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz Women filmmakers conduct film forum in Bishkek , the foundation "Creative Women of Asia" reported.

On December 17, 2016, at the Chingiz Aitmatov House of Cinema, First Film Forum of Kyrgyz Women Filmmakers was conducted. The forum was dedicated to the Year of History and Culture and to the 75th anniversary of the Kyrgyz cinema. More than fifteen participants presented to the audience their short films made in different periods of time. The purpose of the forum was to acquaint the public with Kyrgyz women filmmakers and hold a discussion.

This year the film forum will be held on December 22-23. "Our second film forum will last for two days. On the first day of, a master class for women filmmakers will be held. On the second day, fiction (story) films and documentaries will be shown”, the organizers said.

Within the framework of the film forum, female filmmakers will show their films to the public and they will have the opportunity to exchange experiences.Creative Kyrgyz filmmakers will also have an opportunity to get informed about the International festivals, grants and to advance their career in general. They also can participate in master classes of famous and experienced women filmmakers.

“ The Creative Women of Asia” Foundation was established in 2013. Founders of it are Asel Zhuraeva and Aigerim Birnazarova. The main goal of the foundation is to support the creativity of Asian women, to protect the rights of creative women, and also to help them promote their various ideas, works, and projects.

“ The Creative Women of Asia” Foundation works closely with the filmmaking companies such as Kyrgyzfilm, Tazar Cinema Company, Aitysch Film, SEAStudio, and with women's rights organizations. The Foundation annually recruits interested people for one-year filmmaking course of Temir Birnazarov. Until now, the Foundation has helped more than 15 filmmakers to make their films.
