Kyrgyz wrestler Akzhol Makhmudov becomes champion of Asia

Bishkek, April 10, 2023. / Kabar/. Kyrgyz athlete Akzhol Makhmudov became the champion of Asia in Greco-Roman wrestling in 2023.

The tournament started on Sunday in Astana (Kazakhstan).

Akzhol Makhmudov (77 kg) started from the 1/4 final stage, where he defeated a wrestler from Turkmenistan with a score of 9:0. In the semi-final, the Kyrgyzstani defeated the Japanese (9:1) and reached the final.

In the final, the Iranian athlete withdrew from the competition due to injury.

Makhmudov became the champion of Asia for the third time, he won tournaments in 2018 and 2022.
