Kyrgyz wrestlers take second place at Asian Championship in Grappling

Bishkek, Sept. 5, 2017 / Kabar /.Kyrgyz team took the second place at the Asian Championship in grappling which was held in Astana, the wrestlers wrote on social network.

Competitions were held on September 2-3 bringing together more than 100 wrestlers from India, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. As a result the Kazakh national team took the first place, the Kyrgyz team are the second and the Uzbek team are the third.

Medalists: Ashirov Argen, Narmanov Nurmuhammed, Kekenov Addyldabek, Momokulov Arthur, Chingizbek uulu Ilyaz, Shamshiev Azimbek, Nurbaev Dooronbek, Omurzakov Beksultan, Uzgenbaeva Barchynay and Bagymbai Torokan.

Initially, such countries as India and Arab Emirates claimed for the right to host Championship, but later the choice fell on the capital of Kazakhstan.

Grappling is a close fighting technique used to gain physical advantage such as improving relative position or causing injury to the opponent.
