Kyrgyz wrestlers win prizes at International tournament in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, June 10, 2019 /Kabar/. Kyrgyz delegation of 10 sportsmen led by Head of Kyrgyzstan Wrestling Federation Mirlan Eraliyev takes part in the I International Bakhovuddin Nakshband Tournament for the Prize of Uzbekistan's President, the Bukhara sports journalists told.

Eraliyev said that Kyrgyz wrestlers have been thoroughly engaged in Uzbek national wrestling - kurash for two years.

Kyrgyzstanis Nurislam Idrisov (90 kg) took the 3rd place, Zhamalbek Asylbek uulu (90 kg) - the 2nd place on the first day of the tournament.

Two Kyrgyz women athletes and five wrestlers will perform tonight.

The total prize fund of the tournament is $70,000. Competitions will be held according to the Kurash IKA international rules.

Kurash is the oldest kind of martial arts of the Uzbek people, has a history of 3500 years. Today, kurash wrestling has become one of the favorite sports in almost 130 countries of the world and continues to gain popularity on all continents of the globe.
