Tashkent, Mar. 13, 2019. /Kabar/. A youth delegation from Kyrgyzstan took part in the international festival under the motto: “Let's build a future without terrorism!”, which took place in the city of Fergana, the UzA news agency reported.
It was attended by representatives of government bodies, youth organizations, national cultural centers, law enforcement agencies, the religious sphere, specialists who have scientific and practical experience in combating extremism and terrorism, and young people from the border areas of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
The main purpose of the international festival is to ensure security, interethnic harmony and religious tolerance, as well as promoting the principles of well-thought-out and mutually beneficial policies among the people of Central Asia. At the same time, further expansion of cooperation between youth organizations and state bodies is planned for the purposes of preventing terrorist acts and to strengthen friendly relations between neighboring countries.
At the opening ceremony of the festival, it was noted that the constructive cooperation established between the governments of the countries and youth organizations in Central Asia opens up new prospects. In particular, the unity of youth in the fight against international terrorism and various threats is of great importance today.
Head of the delegation of Batken oblast Chynar Sattorov told that the youth festival devoted to the topical issue calls for deep thought. “There is nothing worse than terrorism. Today, young people unanimously state this and are united in the name of a common goal,” he noted.
A training seminar was held at Fergana Reception House on “Current Issues of Combating Extremism and Terrorism in the Central Asian Region”. Development of mutually acceptable approaches to prevent the violent extremist movements in Central Asia, expansion of cooperation between governments, formation of sustainable immunity against the ideology of terrorism and extremist activities among young people were discussed. At the seminar, the work carried out in the region in this direction was also analyzed. The participants exchanged views.
A memorandum on organization of such festivals on a traditional basis, strengthening cooperation between higher educational institutions was signed between neighboring countries.
Within the framework of the festival, an exhibition under the motto “We are building the future together” was held at Fergana State University, where innovative ideas of young scientists, products and items produced by young entrepreneurs and artisans were presented. The Friendship Cup had been organized, during which mini-football, volleyball and table tennis sports competitions were held among teams from the festival participants.
The concert program, which took place in Ferghana's Istiklol Stadium, presented the festival participants with a festive mood. Songs and dances glorifying friendship and peace, traditions and customs of the Kyrgyz, Tajik and Uzbek peoples were performed.
