Bishkek, Dec. 13, 2024. / Kabar /. The State Agency for Intellectual Property and Innovation of the Kyrgyz Republic (Kyrgyzpatent) and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) signed a memorandum of understanding.
The document was signed by Director of Kyrgyzpatent Rakhat Kerimbaeva and US Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the USPTO Catherine Vidal.
The memorandum provides for deepening bilateral cooperation in key areas of intellectual property protection and innovation promotion.
As part of the memorandum, the parties agreed to:
exchange information and best practices in the field of IP legislation, policy and educational activities;
conduct technical assistance and capacity building programs;
organize consultations and discussions on issues of mutual interest in the field of intellectual property protection.
This agreement underscores the commitment of both parties to improving their national intellectual property systems and promoting innovation-driven economic growth.
Rakhat Kerimbaeva noted the significance of this event. "This memorandum opens a new chapter in our cooperation with the USPTO, strengthening our shared commitment to supporting innovation and improving intellectual property protection," she said.
The signing of the memorandum was part of Kyrgyzpatent's strategy to expand international cooperation in the field of intellectual property and innovation.
