Kyrgyzstan achieved full self-sufficiency in chicken eggs

Bishkek, Nov.21, 2024. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan has achieved full self-sufficiency in chicken eggs this year, the Ministry of Agriculture of the country reported.

The signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Agriculture Ministry and the Association of Poultry Farmers of Kyrgyzstan demonstrates a strategic approach to the development of the poultry industry.

Thus, in 2024, Kyrgyzstan achieved full self-sufficiency in chicken eggs, which indicates significant progress in the poultry sector. However, the domestic production of chicken meat meets the needs of about 35-40%, which indicates the need for further development of this sector.

Major projects are being implemented in the country to increase self-sufficiency in poultry meat. Such as, Agro-industrial Complex Credit (AICC) aimed at supporting farmers. In addition, an additional line of poultry farms is planned to be launched in the city of Balykchy (Issyk0Kul Oblast) with the support of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund, which will also help increase chicken meat production and reduce dependence on imports.

“These initiatives are aimed at strengthening the country's food security and creating new jobs, which will have a positive impact on Kyrgyzstan's economic development,” the report said.
