Bishkek, July 22, 2022. /Kabar/. The population of Kyrgyzstan has formed a herd immunity against coronavirus infection, but vaccination remains an important element of protection. Anara Mambetisaeva, the head of the Public Health Department of the Ministry of Health told Kabar News Agency.
She noted that 50% of the target group of about 3 million Kyrgyzstanis have been vaccinated.
"The first dose of COVID-19 vaccine covered 70%, the second dose 60% and the booster dose 35%. Mainly medical workers, teachers, state and municipal employees were vaccinated, these are those who are very closely associated with work in crowded places," Mambetisaeva said.
The specialist added that the Ministry of Health actively encourages everyone to be vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to avoid the consequences of the virus.
