Bishkek, Feb.6, 2020. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan is actively working on getting off the EU blacklist, Kurmanbek Akyshev, director of the Civil Aviation Agency (CAA) told reporters.
According to his, intensive work in this direction has been going for two years.
"We are already at the final stage. The work is proceeding as planned. This year, we have already received the right to apply to leave the blacklist, and soon we will go to develop plans," assured the head of CAA.
Director of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center under the Economy Minister Daniyar Abdyldayev said the withdrawal from the blacklist and modernization of airports should run parallel.
"Exit from the blacklist will increase passenger and air traffics. In order to serve such a flow of passengers, we need to create infrastructure and appropriate conditions," he said.
The list of air carriers banned in the European Union is a list of airlines failing to meet regulatory oversight standards of the EU, and which are banned from entering the airspace of any member state.
The first version of the list was published in 2006, on the legal basis of the Regulation of the European Commission, issued on 22 March of that year. The current version of the list was published on Nov. 30, 2017.
