Kyrgyzstan adds 87 new COVID-19 cases, total at 44,613

Bishkek, Sept. 9, 2020. /Kabar/. 87 new cases of COVID-19 coronavirus infection and community – acquired pneumonia were registered in Kyrgyzstan over the past 24 hours, Head of the Public Health Department of the country’s Health Ministry Ainura Akmatova told a news briefing Wednesday.

Thus, Kyrgyzstan's total number of infections has reached 44,613.

She also reported that one more medical worker contracted COVID-19, raising the total number of medics infected with novel coronavirus to 3,159.

As of Sept. 9, another 178 Kyrgyzstanis have recovered. Number of nationwide recoveries from COVID-19 has climbed to 40,336.

Currently, 535 patients are in hospitals across the republic, and 2,373 are receiving treatment at home.

Kyrgyzstan’s death toll from COVID-19 stands at 1,063, as one more patient died in the past day.
