Kyrgyzstan annually allocates 75 budgeted places to ethnic Kyrgyz for studying

Bishkek, Sept. 10, 2020 /Kabar/. The Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic annually allocates 75 budget places for free education of ethnic Kyrgyz in higher education institutions of the republic, Head of the International Cooperation Department of the ministry Chinara Maatkerimova told during a press conference at Kabar News Agency.

According to her, currently ethnic Kyrgyz living in Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Turkey and China can participate in the contest.

"These budget seats are calculated as follows: for applicants from Kyrgyzstan - 25 seats, Uzbekistan - 20, Tajikistan - 15, Kazakhstan, Turkey and the PRC - 5 seats each," the head of the department said.

Maatkerimova added that the competitive selection on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic had been completed.

"I would like to note that due to the epidemiological situation around the world, the deadline for submission of documents for ethnic Kyrgyz outside the Kyrgyz Republic has been extended," she said.

Last year, 106 applicants applied for 75 budget seats.
