Bishkek, Sept. 8, 2020. /Kabar/. The epidemiological situation in the country is still acute, and it is too early to speak about any improvement, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Kubatbek Boronov said Tuesday.
According to him, in connection with a possible second wave of COVID-19 in the country, control over compliance with sanitary and epidemiological requirements in public places, public transport and educational institutions remains strict.
"We have ascertained through other countries' experiences that easing of quarantine measures or the removal of quarantine in general has only worsened the epidemiological situation in a particular country. Therefore, the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic decided to gradually resume economic activity in the republic," he said.
At the same time, Boronov noted that certain actions are currently being taken in connection with a possible second wave of COVID-19.
"On Aug. 21 this year, an order was signed to allocate KGS 221.5 million for the purchase of flu vaccines to prevent the season of acute respiratory diseases in the spring and autumn. These funds will be used to purchase 700 thousand doses of influenza vaccines and 20 thousand vaccines against pneumococcus. First of all, children, teachers, doctors and vulnerable segments of the population will be vaccinated," Boronov said.
