Bishkek, April 27, 2021 . / Kabar /. KGS 248 million (about $ 2 million 924 thousand) were allocated in Kyrgyzstan to purchase medicines, medical devices and PPE, Chairman of the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund (CHIF) Artur Zhumanazarov said during a visit to health-care organizations in the south of the republic.
Zhumanazarov together with directors of territorial departments of the CHIF visited health-care organizations, including reoriented hospitals for patients with COVID-19 in Osh, Jalal-Abad and Batken Oblasts, the press service of the Insurance Fund reported.
During the meeting, the CHIF chairman discussed issues of providing health-care organizations with medicines and personal protective equipment (PPE). Special attention was paid to the issues of timely payment of salaries and monthly compensation payments to medical workers combating COVID-19.
"For less than 4 months, KGS 248 million were allocated from the budget of the CHIF to purchase medicines, medical devices and PPE. The available actual stock of medicines including those procured from the State Material Reserves Fund is KGS 410 million and will allow to provide medical care for all coronavirus patients for the next 2-3 months", Zhumanazarov said.
