Bishkek, March 25, 2021 . / Kabar /. For the period January-February 2021, KGS 5 billion 457.8 million were allocated from the national budget of Kyrgyzstan to service public debt.
According to the Kyrgyz Ministry of Economy and Finance, of these:
- on the public external debt – KGS 3 billion 049.4 million;
- on the public internal debt – KGS 2 billion 408.4 million.
As of Jan. 31, 2021, the amount of the public debt (external + internal) amounted to USD 4 billion 954.11 million (KGS 420,108.67 million).
Of these:
- 85.2% is the state external debt: USD 4,221.61 million (KGS 357,992.44 million);
- 14.8% is the state internal debt: USD 732.50 million (KGS 62,116.23 million).
Public debt is a total amount of disbursed and unpaid internal and external public debt of the Kyrgyz Republic on a certain date under the credit agreement or other debt obligations of the state.
The amount of public debt is determined by the Government taking into account international indices of debt sustainability and is provided in the law on the national budget for the next fiscal year and two forecast periods.
