The issue was discussed at the meeting of Vice Chairman of the People's Government of the XUAR of China Sun Hongmei with Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic Daniyar Amangeldiev.
The head of the Ministry of Economy noted the saturation of the Kyrgyz-Chinese bilateral relations in 2022, and informed about the work of the Kyrgyz side to strengthen the Torugart and Irkeshtam checkpoints, as well as the dynamics of growth in freight traffic on the Kyrgyz-Chinese state border.
At the same time, Amangeldiev called to increase the supply of Kyrgyz agricultural products to Xinjiang, optimizing the quarantine process depending on the situation for the prevention and control of epidemics, and facilitating an increase in the throughput of goods at border crossings.
The head of the Chinese delegation noted that the Kyrgyz Republic is the No. 1 partner of the XUAR in 2022, stressed the importance of the participation of the parties in the ongoing exhibition events and suggested considering the possibility of cooperation in the field of green energy. Together with her, representatives of such companies as TBEA, SANBAO, EMA and Jun Tai and Si Lu Tong, who arrived to discuss joint projects in the field of renewable energy sources.
The parties agreed to continue working closely to promote joint projects for the construction of the Kyrgyzstan-China-Uzbekistan railway, the construction of the Bedel checkpoint, and also raised the issue of initiating a Business Council and establishing twinning between the Issyk-Kul region and the XUAR of the PRC.
