Bishkek, March 28, 2024 / Kabar/. On March 27, Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to France Sadyk Sher-Niyaz met with the diplomatic adviser to the president of this country, Bertrand Buchwalter.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, the meeting took place at the Elysee Palace. The parties discussed a wide range of issues of Kyrgyz-French bilateral cooperation.
The mutual intention to expand the political dialogue by organizing mutual visits at the highest level in 2024 was confirmed.
Particular attention was paid to the implementation of agreements following the bilateral meeting of the presidents of Kyrgyzstan and France in Paris on November 10, 2023. The ambassador of Kyrgyzstan also informed about the internal political changes and reforms currently being carried out in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The ambassador focused on further intensifying political, trade, economic, cultural and educational relations between the countries by expanding the legal framework, as well as organizing the next Kyrgyz-French business forum this year in Bishkek.
The parties positively assessed the participation of French companies in the implementation of economic projects in Kyrgyzstan, especially in terms of the development of the energy and tourism sectors of the economy of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Taking into account France’s efforts to improve the climate and ecology of the world, the ambassador proposed to complete the French side’s consideration of the issue of writing off external debt in exchange for projects of the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of green economy.
The parties also exchanged views on contemporary threats to regional security.
