Bishkek, Nov. 6, 2024 . / Kabar /. Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov made a statement to the media on the results of talks with Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban, held within the framework of his official visit to Kyrgyzstan.
Zhaparov noted that the Hungarian PM's state visit reaffirms the strong and strategically important relations between Kyrgyzstan and Hungary.
"During the meeting, we signed a joint declaration on Enhanced Strategic Partnership, and we are confident that this important document will give a new impetus to the further development of Kyrgyz-Hungarian relations.
Within the framework of substantial negotiations, we discussed key issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, and exchanged views on the international and regional agenda of mutual interest," the Kyrgyz leader noted, adding that signing of today's agreements is a vivid indicator of the dynamic development of cooperation in various areas.
In addition, he emphasized the decision of the Hungarian side to continue to allocate quotas for Kyrgyz students to study in Hungarian higher education institutions within the framework of the program "Stipendium Hungaricum" for 2025-2027.
The president of Kyrgyzstan stressed that the Hungarian-Kyrgyz Development Fund with the authorized capital of USD16 million, within the framework of which specific investment projects are being implemented.
Sadyr Zhaparov expressed confidence that as a result of successful implementation of joint projects, the two countries will be able to increase the authorized capital of the Fund in order to expand its activities in promising areas of cooperation.
"Today we have reaffirmed the strategic nature of our relationship, taking it to the highest level.
We highly appreciate and support Hungary's aspiration to strengthen friendly ties with Turkic-speaking states," he said.
In conclusion of his speech, President Zhaparov expressed gratitude for Viktor Orban's personal contribution to strengthening friendly relations between peoples and countries.
