Bishkek, March 14 / Kabar/. Memorandum on interparliamentary cooperation is signed between the Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyzstan and the National Assembly of Pakistan within the framework of the official visit of the parliamentary delegation of Kyrgyzstan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Chynybai Tursunbekov met with Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.
During the meeting the sides exchanged views on the state of cooperation in cultural, humanitarian, political and economic spheres and discussed expanding the inter-parliamentary partnership.
The Kyrgyz Speaker stressed the symbolism of the first official visit of the Kyrgyz parliamentary delegation to Pakistan on the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two states. "I hope that the current visit of the parliamentary delegation will open a new page in the inter-parliamentary relations between our countries," he said.
Tursunbekov recalled that the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is one of the countries of Asia, where parliamentary democracy is successfully developing. "Kyrgyzstan has also chosen the path of parliamentarism, and we are interested in studying Pakistan's experience in this field," the Speaker said, and stressed the importance of establishing closer and more productive ties between the profile committees and friendship groups of the parliaments of the two countries, and organizing internships for the employees of the Parliament’s Offices.
In addition, the Speaker positively assessed the resumption of the operation of the Quadripartite Agreement on Transit Transport (QTTA) between Pakistan, China, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, the use of which in the soonest implementation of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, will provide the shortest access for Central Asian countries to the open sea, through the Pakistani ports as well as to world producers in trade with the Eurasian economic space.
Also Chynybai Tursunbekov added that due to the implementation of the CASA 1000 project in the near future many issues will be solved. "The implementation of such joint projects will strengthen bilateral cooperation," he said.
Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, noting the need to expand cooperation between the two countries in all spheres of life, said that the inter-parliamentary partnership will serve as the basis for future fruitful cooperation. He also expressed the hope that the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Chynybai Tursunbekov will take part in the meeting of the Parliamentary Organization for Economic Cooperation (PAECO), which is planned to be held this year in Pakistan.
From his part, Chynybai Tursunbekov invited Sardar Ayaz Sadiq to Kyrgyzstan for an official visit.
