Bishkek, Dec. 24, 2024. / Kabar /. The Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and Rosatom Renewable Energy JSC (an enterprise of the Rosatom State Corporation) have signed an investment agreement, which provides for cooperation in the field of wind energy, Rosatom reported.
The document was signed by Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic Taalaibek Ibraev, General Director of Rosatom Renewable Energy JSC Grigory Nazarov and General Director of NovaWind Kyrgyzstan LLC Dmitry Andreev. Earlier, in September 2024, a time capsule was laid at the construction site of the future wind farm.
The agreement provides for the implementation of an investment project for the construction and operation of a wind power plant with an installed capacity of 100 MW in the village of Kok-Moinok in Issyk-Kul Region of Kyrgyztan, as well as the sale of electricity generated by the wind farm. The start of design and survey work and equipment contracting are scheduled for 2025.
"This Agreement signing is another step in the consistent implementation of renewable energy projects in friendly countries. The State Corporation has all the necessary competencies for the construction and operation of wind farms. The total capacity of implemented wind power projects in Russia has already exceeded 1 GW. "I am convinced that the construction of such facilities will not only improve the quality and reliability of the energy system, but will also create new jobs and competencies for the residents of the Republic," said Grigory Nazarov, Director General of Rosatom Renewable Energy JSC.
