Kyrgyzstan and Saudi Arabia accelerate export of Kyrgyz products to Saudi market

Bishkek, April 5 / Kabar /. Minister of Agriculture, Food Industry and Melioration of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurbek Murashev paid a visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) on April 3-4.

According to the press service of the ministry, during the visit, he met with Chairman of the General Directorate for Food and Drug Administration, Khisham bin Saad Al-Jadiy. With a view to boosting trade and economic cooperation between the KSA and the Kyrgyz Republic, the parties agreed to expedite the issue of including Kyrgyzstan in the list of countries that have the right to export their goods to the Saudi market.

Hisham bin Saad Al-Jadiy said that there are no bans on Kyrgyz goods in the KSA. The only condition for unimpeded imports was the need for a certificate and expressed the willingness of cooperation with the Kyrgyz side in this matter. Also, the Saudi party expressed interest in environmental products.

In addition, the head of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan met with Minister of Environment, Water Resources and Agriculture of the KSA Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsin Al-Fadli. The meeting was also attended by Kyrgyz Ambassador to the KSA A. Zhumabayev. The parties discussed promising areas of cooperation, interaction with the business community of the KSA, as well as the results of the first meeting of the Saudi-Kyrgyz joint committee.

With a view to boosting trade and economic cooperation, the ministers agreed to hold joint events between business circles of the two countries. Minister Murashev suggested that the Saudi side to study the possibility of supplying agricultural products of Kyrgyzstan to Saudi Arabia.

Following the meeting, the ministers signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of agriculture, livestock and fisheries between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kyrgyz Republic.
