Bishkek, Sept. 22, 2022. / Kabar /. The Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan reported that the night passed calmly, no incidents were recorded.
At the same time the work continues to detect, clear and neutralize border areas from unexploded ordnance, mines, ammunition and other explosives.
The working commissions of the Parties continue to take measures to de-escalate the situation and verify the implementation of agreements on the withdrawal of additional forces and means from the state border line to the places of their permanent deployment of the border.
On Sept. 14, Tajikistan showed armed aggression by attacking Kyrgyz border outposts and populated areas.
On Sept. 16, the Tajik side, violating all previously reached agreements, again attacked border and civilian facilities along the entire perimeter of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border in the Batken region, using heavy armored vehicles, multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) and aircraft, trying to capture the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Tajik military destroyed the infrastructure of outposts, as well as schools, kindergartens, retail outlets, first-aid posts, and houses. Shouting nationalist slogans, they showed blasphemy and subjected the bodies of the border guards of the Kyrgyz Republic who died at the post to mockery.
On Sept. 17 in the morning, once again violating the ceasefire agreement, the Tajik side fired mortars at Pasky Aryk, Dostuk villages, then - the positions of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic in Tort-Kocho and the positions of the Kyrgyz border guards in the village ofTeshik-Tash, Karamyk and Karool-Dobo in the Chon-Alai region. At 18.20, it again opened fire on the border guards of the Karamyk outpost in the Chon-Alai region.
An emergency regime has been introduced in the Batken region.
Kyrgyzstan these days called on the Tajik side to cease fire and direct all efforts to de-escalate the conflict. However, Tajikistan violated all the agreements reached by continuing provocative shelling.
On Sept. 18, 19, 20, 21, the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border was assessed as calm, with a tendency towards stabilization.
September 19 was declared a day of national mourning in Kyrgyzstan.
On Sept.19, Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan Kamchybek Tashiev and Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan Saimumin Yatimov signed a protocol on the settlement of the armed conflict in the border areas of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan.
According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health, 198 people from the Kyrgyz side were injured, 59 died, including children.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan made a statement, calling the aggression of Tajikistan a planned armed act. Also, the Foreign Ministry commented on the speech of the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Sodik Imomi, calling it an attempt to mislead the world community.
