Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan aim to open, constructive dialogue - Ukrainian expert

Tashkent, Dec. 21, 2017 / Kabar /. The recent visit of President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Zheenbekov to Tashkent demonstrated that the parties are aimed at an open, constructive dialogue, Uzbek Foreign Ministry reported referring to editor-in-chief of the Ukraine’s Europe-Asia-Media, head of the Bridges of Friendship project Artur Gashenko.

Gashenko said that due to the implementation of the initiatives of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, today, all the issues between Tashkent and Bishkek, that have been stressing the tension in bilateral relations for many years have been resolved, or are actively discussing taking into account the interests of the parties. "This has become a reliable foundation for giving momentum to the Uzbek-Kyrgyz cooperation in the interests of the peoples of the two states," he said.

The expert considers that, currently the building trade and economic, transport-communication and cultural-humanitarian cooperation, delimitation of borders, rational use of water resources are on the focus of Kyrgyz-Uzbek relations.

"Special attention was paid to the development of trade and economic relations. The bilateral trade turnover between the republics shows significant growth. This will be facilitated by issues raised during the visit on the mutual removal of all obstacles and restrictions in conducting banking and financial transactions, the creation of new mechanisms for trade financing and support for exports to third countries, the creation of joint ventures," Gashenko said.

Sooronbai Zheenbekov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev confirmed the similarity of positions on topical regional and international issues, expressed readiness for mutual support in the international arena, development of cooperation within the framework of international structures.

The visit has vividly confirmed that recently the partnership relations between the countries of Central Asia are significantly intensified, filled with new content, which is largely facilitated by Uzbekistan's foreign policy activity, the Ukrainian expert summed up.
