Tashkent, March 19, 2024 / Kabar /. The newly appointed head of the Osh regional branch of the Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan Berdigul Karaev and representatives of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in the city of Osh discussed on Monday priority areas of Kyrgyz-Uzbek cooperation, the Dunyo News Agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan reported.
During the meeting, information was presented on the activities of the assembly, which, using the mechanism of public diplomacy, is engaged in maintaining the peaceful and prosperous life of representatives of different nationalities living in Kyrgyzstan, developing friendly relations and cultural and educational ties with foreign countries, establishing close ties with compatriots abroad. The 30th anniversary of the assembly will be celebrated in April.
Particular attention was paid to intensifying cooperation with Uzbek national centers and organizing various events with their participation.
Following the meeting, a decision was made to work out the signing of a memorandum between the Osh regional branch of the Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan and the Vatandosh public foundation, the El-Yurt Umidi foundation and the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendship with Foreign Countries under the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan.
The Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan was created in January 1994. Its main goal is to fully promote the strengthening of interethnic harmony, civil peace and unity in society.
