Bishkek, Nov. 15, 2018. /Kabar/. Consultations on political issues were held in Bishkek between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, headed by First Deputy Minister Dinara Kemelova and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Dilshod Akhatov.
During the consultations, the sides discussed topical issues of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek bilateral relations in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields, cross-border cooperation, interaction within international and regional organizations, implementation of previously reached agreements. Discussing the schedule of upcoming events, the sides stressed the importance of high-quality preparation of upcoming visits at the highest levels.
The sides, emphasizing with satisfaction the intensification of bilateral relations in recent years in all areas of interaction, positively appreciated the high dynamics of contacts at the level of presidents, prime ministers, as well as heads of foreign ministries, an increase in the volume of mutual trade, the number of tourists from Uzbekistan who visited Kyrgyzstan (for 9 months of this year amounted to 2 million 422 thousand people).
The issues of holding the second meeting of the Council of Plenipotentiaries in the border areas of the Kyrgyz Republic and khokims of the border areas of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the 9th meeting of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek intergovernmental commission on bilateral cooperation, as well as the visit of the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Uzbekistan soon.
Following the results of the negotiations, the sides expressed their intentions to further expand and deepen the historically established bilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan on the basis of mutually beneficial cooperation and strategic partnership.
