Bishkek, Jan. 26, 2023 / Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan intend to create joint tourism products for travelers from third countries, head of the presidential administration of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov told today at the opening of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek Business forum in Bishkek by the

He noted that Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan today are the most open countries in their region, which should be used to promote tourism.

“We are obliged to create joint tourism products. Today, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan are the most open countries in our region, which have introduced a visa-free regime for the maximum number of third countries. These are huge opportunities — we have everything to create products that will keep tourists from other regions in our countries for a long time. This means additional income for our small business, an increase in the growth of our economies, replenishment of our budgets, which will allow us to fulfill additional social obligations to the population,” Umurzakov said.

He noted that when developing joint tourism products, the parties should prioritize the common historical, cultural heritage and natural features of each country.

“I am surprised by the data on how many Uzbeks visited Issyk-Kul last year, and if we take the entire Kyrgyzstan, then the figure is even higher. We need to increase mutual tourism and improve recreational opportunities,” Umurzakov added, speaking about the need to increase the mutual tourist flow.

The business forum is being held as part of the program of the state visit of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
