Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan to deepen industrial cooperation involving implementation of 60 joint projects

Bishkek, Dec. 9, 2021 / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev met in Tashkent on Wednesday with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov within the framework of participation in the second Central Asia + Italy ministerial meeting.

The sides noted the successful political events in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan and agreed on the need to intensify the relevant measures to implement the previously reached agreements at the level of the heads of state of the two countries in March 2021.

In addition, the interlocutors expressed interest in accelerating the practical work of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund, implementing priority investment projects within the framework of the fund for the construction of a trade and logistics center in Kyzyl-Kia and the Daraot-Korgon-Uch-Korgon highway connecting this center with multimodal China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan transport corridor.

In addition, the sides noted the importance of the soonest implementation of the plan of measures of the Roadmap to expand and deepen cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of industrial cooperation, involving the implementation of about 60 joint projects.

The Kyrgyz side voiced a request to support the initiative of the Kyrgyz Republic on the adoption of the draft resolution of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly on declaring 2022 the International Year of Sustainable Mountain Development.
