Kyrgyzstan, Andorra sign declaration on development of mountain regions

Bishkek, Sept. 27, 2024. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeenbek Kulubaev held a bilateral meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Andorra Imma Tor Faus.

The meeting took place on the margins of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said.

During the meeting, the Kyrgyz sides expressed interest in intensifying bilateral dialog and potential areas of mutually beneficial cooperation were discussed.

Special attention was paid to cooperation in promoting the mountain agenda within the UN. In this context, the Kyrgyz and Andorran sides on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations signed a memorable joint declaration with a focus on cooperation in the development of mountain regions.

As part of the discussion of international cooperation, Minister Kulubaev informed about the candidacy of the Kyrgyz Republic as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the period 2027-2028 and requested support for Kyrgyzstan's candidacy.

Following the meeting, the heads of foreign ministries confirmed their readiness to further strengthen bilateral ties.
