Bishkek, March 14, 2021. / Kabar /. According to preliminary data, the holy month of Ramadan will begin in Kyrgyzstan on Apr. 13-14, Kabar Agency has learnt from the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan.
According to the muftiat, this date may be revised, based on the sighting of the moon.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, prayer, reflection and community.
A commemoration of Muhammad's first revelation, the annual observance of Ramadan is regarded as one of the Five Pillars of Islam and last's twenty-nine to thirty days, from one sighting of the crescent moon to the next.
