Bishkek, Sept. 26, 2024. / Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Administration Akylbek Zhaparov held a meeting with Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Sachiko Imoto.
The Cabinet of Ministers said that during the conversation, Akylbek Zhaparov expressed gratitude to Japan for its continued support of Kyrgyzstan and emphasized the importance of bilateral cooperation.
He noted that the Cabinet of Ministers is making efforts to accelerate the socio-economic development of the country, focusing on the transition from an export-raw materials model to an industrial-innovative one.
The head of the Cabinet announced several key projects that require significant financial resources, noting, in particular, the construction of the Kambarata HPP-1, with a capacity of 1,860 megawatts and an average annual output of 5.6 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, which requires about 5 billion US dollars. He also focused on the development of the water supply and sanitation sector, including the construction of irrigation canals and the provision of social housing to the population through the State Mortgage Company.
At the end of the meeting, Akylbek Zhaparov expressed confidence that the joint efforts of Kyrgyzstan and Japan in implementing projects not only contribute to economic growth, but also improve the quality of life of citizens.
"We are open to new ideas and solutions that will help us achieve sustainable development and prosperity of our country," the head of the Cabinet concluded.
