Kyrgyzstan approves program to combat human trafficking

Bishkek, April 26, 2022 . / Kabar /. The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan has approved a Program to Combat Human Trafficking for 2022-2025 and the Action Plan for its implementation. The relevant decision was signed by Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Zhaparov.

The purpose of the Program is to ensure a systematic approach and increase the effectiveness of measures to combat human trafficking, aimed at promoting the rights of people - victims of human trafficking, based on the coordination and cooperation of government agencies with public and international organizations.

The adopted Program has the following priorities:

- legal regulation of the state policy framework in the field of combating trafficking in human beings, aimed at preventing, combating trafficking in human beings, identification and referral of victims of trafficking in order to assist and protect them;

- preventing human trafficking;

- suppressing and prosecuting the perpetrators of human trafficking

- providing protection and assistance to victims of human trafficking;

- partnership, cooperation and coordination of activities in the field of combating trafficking in human beings.
