Bishkek, Oct. 27, 2021 . / Kabar / . The Kyrgyz side asked Turkey to take control of the case of the murder of a Kyrgyz woman by her father-in-law, the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry’s press service said.
Consul General of Kyrgyzstan in Istanbul Lira Sydykova took part in meeting of Kyrgyzstan’s Internal Minister Ulan Niyazbekov with Minister of Internal Affairs of Turkey Suleyman Soylu.
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of combating international extremism, human trafficking, drug trafficking, organized and cybercrime, the exchange of experience among the officers of the two countries, as well as the development of cooperation in the provision of material and technical resources were touched upon.
In addition, the heads of the Internal Ministries debated the protection of the rights and interests of Kyrgyz citizens in Turkey. In particular, the Kyrgyz side expressed a request to take control of the investigation and consideration of the case against a Turkish citizen, accused of murdering a Kyrgyz woman, who was killed on Oct. 13, 2021 in Tekirdag.
Ulan Niyazbekov and Suleyman Soylu also exchanged views on the issues of speeding up the resolution of open cases against citizens of the two countries, the situation of Kyrgyz citizens serving sentences in penitentiary institutions of Turkey.
In the town of Cerkezkei (Turkey), a 65-year-old man-in-law of the victim stabbed and dismembered a 31-year-old Kyrgyz woman.
